Gentle application of a hair-dryer when you have the opportunity will probably fix the problem. (Also works on dents in car plastic bumpers.)

A gripe of mine too. You are not unreasonable. Anchor buoys are a clue to what scope they have laid. At what time of day do they drop their hooks? They are always there before me.

I assumed that "keelboat" referred to things like Pipers and Etchells while "yacht" is something with a downstairs.

There are (or were) a couple of dipping lugsail traditional boats in Stornoway and one that I've never seen move in Tarbert (Loch Fyne).
