20th June from RGYC - just wish I could post the snazzy posters. Your chance to score lots of dosh on a course from Ashton to the Gantocks, then the sugar ship and back to RGYC (or the other way round) - the course may vary with the weather.
You will need a CYCA handicap; a sail number; £3M 3rd party for racing but ask your provider nicely and stress the pursuit aspect - no crowded start lines; and a sense of humour. Details are on https://www.clydecorinthian.org/.
It is intended to be a fun event with boats finishing around the same time (if the handicapping is good) and a party ashore afterwards.
All this is to celebrate the CCYC 150th Anniversary in a Corinthian way, befitting the long history of inclusivity and joy of being on the water
And I should mention it is White Sail - no coloured works of the devil, no need for extra crew, just maw, paw and the weans on a gentle day out doon ra watter.

Bumping this.
Are there really no takers, no questions, no interest? I don't suppose any of you, when sailing in the same general direction as another boat, perk up, tweak the sheets and concentrate a bit harder. A pursuit race is very similar - no start line chaos, no spinnakers, possibly a prize for the best scones baked on the downwind leg. But if you have no vestige of competitive urges (and don't want 1000 Guineas) so be it.

Re: Clyde Corinthian 1000 Guinea Pursuit Race
I have taken part in, and organized many corporate pursuit races. Having had to make insurance queries a purist race is very much a race, hence insurance premiums need to reflect the risk. Eventually, I settled on the term, along with others on the committee, “timed passages” and it pleased the insurance companies. So my warning to anyone is think carefully about this if you’re not insured to race, consult your insurance company and pay the extra premium. Maybe they will accept that it is not a race, but 4 regattas failed to convince them in my case.
It does sound a lovely, and enjoyable event. Good luck in your pursuit.

What's that? Dunno! Should we be worried about that? Dunno! How? Ah dunno!

Another Bump!
I haven't seen any entries yet from the Clyde sailors on here. Perhaps it's still too cold to get their boats wet - there certainly seems to be a lot of boats still on the hard.

This is the last day to enter at the early bird price or if you are smart to join the Corinthians and pay the early bird members' entry, thus saving £5 on the non-member fee.
