Scottish Anchorages, Charles Warlow

Post by BlowingOldBoots »

Scottish Anchorage's is a web site that describes anchorages and what to do around them. It is not a pilot book. the web page has useful descriptions, pictures, interactive maps and index arranged geographically.

The web sit existed some time ago but fell into disrepair and was almost lost. The author and some accomplices managed to save it all. The website is clunky, scrolling is delayed and navigation around the maps is very poor on my MacBook and iPad. It may not be optimised for Apple products. However, it is still very useful. In addition, the text of each description could be reduced if the author did not include the references in full. He is a retired professor, author of many scientific papers, so I guess it's a habit quoting references in full each and every time. But it is a bore in this otherwise excellent guide.

I own the book which can be ordered from the web page.

No probs at least you shared info.

I emailed Antares and Sir BB said that when they get back from surveying they will address the link. Apparently Charles Warlow has been in touch with Antares about Scottish Anchorages.

It would be cool if you could click on the Antares chart and the relevant Scottish Anchorages page was displayed. However, I can imagine that is additional admin hassle.

One fay these resources will have to be curated by others. They are too good to fade away.
