This Marine Guidance Note highlights the increasing risk of Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) service degradation or denial and the potential impacts on maritime safety and operations. As vessels, ports and maritime services become more dependent on satellite-derived PNT information, disruption from jamming, spoofing or signal loss can affect navigation, traffic management and other critical systems. This MGN encourages stakeholders to understand these risks, review contingency arrangements and maintain resilient navigation practices to support safe and continuous operations during periods of GNSS based PNT disruption.
